ABOUT

Mihir Shridhar Haripersad

Finance professional and fintech founder, based in Johannesburg. Most people call me Shri.

I work at the point where financial analysis meets product. My background is in advisory: I spent 2025 as a Financial Advisor at IWCP, running the full cycle from prospecting and needs analysis through to recommendation and ongoing relationship management, building investment, retirement, and estate plans for my own client book. That work is where I learned how much of portfolio risk sits out of sight until somebody goes looking for it.

In November 2025 I founded FuturePort to go looking for it systematically. It's an AI-driven portfolio intelligence platform that brings institutional-grade analytics to independent advisors and retail investors, the two groups least likely to have access to them. I designed and shipped the architecture end to end, including the cloud-hosted analytics backend and the iOS companion app, Concentration Check, which is live on the App Store. I also run go-to-market, which means I've had to be specific about who this is for: independent South African advisors, EasyEquities retail investors, and CFA candidates.

Alongside that I run Greater Web, where I've designed and hosted websites for small business clients since 2024, including the trend analysis behind their digital strategy. It's a different kind of client work, but the underlying job is the same: understand what somebody actually needs, then build it.

I'm currently reading for an ALM in Finance at Harvard Extension School, after completing Harvard Business School Online's CORe program in Business Analytics, Economics for Managers, and Financial Accounting. My undergraduate degree is a BComm in Financial Management from Varsity College.

I write here because a view you can't be held to isn't worth much. Publishing the reasoning behind a call, including the parts that could sink it, is the most honest way I know to be evaluated on my judgment rather than my CV.

What I'm good at

  • Financial analysis and reporting. Financial statement analysis, trend forecasting, risk management.
  • Investment knowledge. Equity markets, fixed income, derivatives, asset management principles.
  • Quantitative and analytical. Data-driven decision making, financial modeling fundamentals.
  • Client advisory. Relationship management, strategic communication, negotiation.
  • Technical. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and applied AI tools used in real product and analysis work rather than in theory.

Outside the work

I train in Kendo, Katori Shinto Ryu, Judo, and MMA, and I cycle. I read a lot of finance and business management literature, which is where most of what ends up on this site starts. At school I founded the Robotics and Coding Club at St Stithians, which in hindsight was the first version of the same instinct: build the thing rather than wait for someone else to.

Where I'm going

I'm looking to bring this mix into financial analysis, fintech, and investment research roles. If that's the kind of work you're hiring for, or you just want to argue with something I've published, the door is open.
